Teddy Bear Quilts
The Teddy Bear Quilts project is a heartwarming outreach initiative that began in 2019 under the leadership of then-President Inge Ford. This project allows guild members to create small quilts that bring comfort and joy to children in need during the holiday season and throughout the year.
Guild-supported projects receive the encouragement and participation of our members but are not funded by the guild.
Co-ordinators: Anne N & Barbara P
Teddy Bear Quilt Guidelines
Guidelines
Quilt Size: Quilts should be a minimum of 24” square and a maximum of 30” square.
Optional Addition: Members are encouraged to include a stuffed animal ("stuffy") with their quilt donation. The quilt and stuffy are then secured together with a ribbon, creating a thoughtful and comforting package.
Donation Process
Collection Times: Most donations are collected at our Gatherings in the fall by the co-ordinators, timed to coincide with the annual toy drive organized by the Knights of Columbus. However, additional donations are welcomed throughout the year.
Distribution: The Knights of Columbus handle the distribution of these quilt and stuffy packages, primarily during their holiday toy drive, but also on other occasions when there is a need.
By participating in the Teddy Bear Quilts project, you have the opportunity to make a child's holiday season a little brighter and provide them with comfort that lasts all year long. Thank you for your generous contributions to this meaningful initiative.
